May Is Street Food Month for the Nashville Food Truck Association

Warmer weather means it's officially the season for food trucks. The Nashville Food Truck Association kicks off its busy season with the fifth annual Street Food Month today. With more than 80 NFTA members, it's easy to find food truck fare all over the area at special events, recurring events such as Street Food Thursdays and Musicians Corner, and regular gigs as well.

Street Food Thursdays will take place every week, featuring a rotating roster of 18 trucks each week, at Fourth and Deaderick downtown, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Other regular locations to visit food trucks include Musicians Corner, Elmington Park, Centennial Park, Sevier Park, the Nashville Farmers' Market, the Franklin Farmers Market, and food truck zones in downtown Nashville.

Special events include Eat the Street in Franklin featuring 40 trucks, May 5; Franklin Hot Air Balloon Festival, May 6; Battle in the Burbs food truck competition in Hendersonville, May 6; Sevier Park Fest, May 5-6; Children Are People Springfest in Hendersonville, May 6; and the 40th annual Bellevue Community Picnic at Red Caboose Park, May 20.

NFTA will donate a portion of member proceeds from May sales to longtime event partner Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.  The association will collect member donations and present a check at the conclusion of Nashville Street Food Month.

Check out the list of food trucks on the website and be sure to follow your favorites on social media to find out where they are from day to day.
