Get Out of the House With Daddy's Dogs' Drive-In Concert Series

Now that restaurants are back open for dine-in and live music is allowed at some establishments (as long as it’s no bigger than a duo), you’ve probably got a hankering to hear some music in a safe setting somewhere other than through your earbuds. Sean Porter of Daddy’s Dogs feels your pain, and he’s decided to do something about it.

Porter is hosting a drive-in concert series at the Daddy’s Dogs location in the Nations (5205 Centennial Blvd.) nightly from Thursday, May 28, through Monday, June 1. Modeled after drive-in theaters, the set-up features a stage for the performers using parameters approved by the Mayor’s COVID-19 Task Force, and musical acts will perform from 8-10 p.m. each night. The star-studded lineup includes Cassadee Pope, Kris Allen, Adam Hambrick, Sarah Potenza, Paul McDonald, Austin Jenckes and others. Attendees will be able to enjoy the music from inside their cars as it broadcasts over a low-power FM transmitter, just like at the drive-in.

"I think Nashville really needs a pick-me-up,” says Porter. “Music is what fuels this city, and I thought it would be a great way to let everyone start experiencing music safely and at their own pace.”

Tickets for the show are free, but in order to maintain safe social distancing, fans must request tickets in advance through the Daddy’s Dogs website. Each show will also be streamed live on Facebook for any fans who wish to enjoy the concert from home.

Daddy's Dogs is a regular vendor at Ascend Amphitheater, Marathon Music Works and at music festivals such as CMA Fest, Bonnaroo, Pilgrimage and Live on the Green. Music is important to Porter & Co., and they have put their full support behind the working musicians of the Nashville industry by continuing to serve free meals to all touring professionals who find themselves out of work due to the pandemic. Donations will be accepted for MusiCares, a nonprofit arm of the Recording Academy whose mission is to provide a critical safety net for individuals inside the music industry.
