Atlanta-based and Michelin-recommended Fishmonger is planning to bring two new locations to Nashville in the next year, with the first slated for Germantown. Known for combining a retail fish market with a casual seafood restaurant, Fishmonger has become an Atlanta favorite, earning the Bib Gourmand designation from the notoriously picky Michelin organization. There are already three locations around Atlanta, so the Nashville additions will bring the restaurants roster to five restaurants.
In preparation for their opening in the Neuhoff District — and to help introduce themselves to the local community — Fishmonger is staging a couple of pop-ups this weekend, July 19 and 20, from 5 until 9:30 p.m. in The Rose Room behind Butcher & Bee. Guests should enter the Bee’s patio through the side entrance next to the Branded Tattoo Company to discover a world of aquatic delights.
The evenings’ á la carte menus will feature cocktails from the Fishmonger menu along with raw bar items and fish sandwiches, entrees, clams and a couple of side dishes to give prospective fans a taste of what the Fishmonger kitchen is throwing down. Be sure to save room for a slice of their key lime pie for dessert!
This is a first-come-first-served situation, and they may run out of some items, so get there early.
Next weekend, The Harpeth Hotel in Franklin is hosting a pop-up community event in their McGavock’s coffee bar to raise awareness and funds for BRIDGES, an organization that works to combat domestic violence in Franklin. The event on Saturday, July 27, will feature live music from Mary Lou and Stacy Riddle from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., and the opportunity to purchase BRIDGES’ Generous Helpings cookbook, which includes 500 recipes from supporters of the program. Ten percent of the day’s proceeds will benefit BRIDGES' work as an emergency shelter for domestic violence victims, including transitional housing and other resources for individuals and their families.
This is another pop-in pop-up, so plan to spend some of your midday doing something to help out this important organization.
