Pretty much the only reason a lot of Nashvillians have ever pulled off the interstate at the Bucksnort exit (other than to fuel up) is to visit the Bucksnort Trout Ranch. Many a parent has had to grab the rented pole away from their child once they realize that they’re paying by the fish, because a kid won’t stop dropping a hook into that productive pond until the expiration of available cash. These flakey fish are perfect for throwing on the grill or a backyard fire pit or for baking in the oven. As opposed to the grocery-store fish of undetermined provenance, you’ll know exactly where these trout came from. You can also cold smoke a couple of trout on your Big Green Egg charcoal barbecue cooker to create the best dip you’ll ever eat!
Bucksnort offers farm pickup every Saturday or delivery to most of the greater Nashville area on Fridays. They also show up at the Richland Farmers’ Market on Saturdays with a stand selling trout that were still swimming the day before. Be sure to check the shop's
Skip the grocery-store fish of unknown origin in favor of a local business that provides some of the freshest fish you can imagine. Plus you get to giggle every time you say “Bucksnort.” (We know you do.)
