Ongoing through the end of the month at the Cë Gallery, Trans Aid Nashville’s RE:FORM takes an expansive view of identity and medium. In this exhibit, joy and grief hold hands: Arresting tributes to queer loved ones who have left Tennessee sit near potent homages to the transformative power of community, while playful zines and drawings line the walls. That duality is a common theme in queer art — and here it’s presented with a focus on the particular beauty and urgency of Southern transness today. To accompany the works, RE:FORM has set up a full slate of events in the space, ranging from live performances to a Spanish workshop on language and gender. It all culminates in the show’s closing reception on July 31, with light fare and snacks provided. RSVP to all the events for free online.
Update: RE:FORM will end a week early on July 24. According to a post from the organization on Instagram, all cancelled events will be reimagined and rescheduled at a later date.
