Temperatures may be heating up, but Third Coast Comedy Club has got a cool lineup of fun improv shows running this summer. This month, the company is bringing back its popular Nominees — an offbeat, improvised take on the Tony Awards. The first act features five unlikely new songs, fueled by audience suggestions. After voting for their favorite, audiences are treated to a fully improvised musical in the second act — complete with a reprise of the winning song. The cast includes pros like Christina Ashworth, Erika Bailey, Caroline Conner, Gabe Cyrus, Seth Nathan Green, Amelia Rossettie and Cammie York. Plus, Third Coast’s musical director Alex Dolezal will be on hand to provide fabulous live piano accompaniment. Audiences can also check out a couple of new shows this month, including fast-paced improv rant competition You Gotta Be Kidding Me (hosted by Third Coast favorites York and Kim Herrmann, kicking off July 17) and the new Third Coast Storytelling Hour (which returns July 26, offering an intimate evening with main stage regular Andrea Ley).
