Oh, the thinks you can think this weekend, as Seussical the Musical continues at Nashville Children’s Theatre. Based on the whimsical works of Dr. Seuss, this delightful musical brings a host of beloved characters to life, from the charming Cat in the Hat to dear Horton the Elephant and even Gertrude McFuzz. There’s a fun, jazzy score courtesy of Broadway’s Tony Award-winning writing team Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime; Once on This Island). Directed and choreographed by NCT’s executive artistic director Jenilee Houghton, the cast features a nice mix of new and familiar talent, including Mallory Mundy, Takiah Ledo, Aaron Arsenault, Natalie Rankin, Téa Doherty, Ella Claybrooks, James Rudolph II, Erica Lee Haines and more. I can’t wait to check out Billy Ditty’s always imaginative costumes. Touching on themes of friendship, loyalty and the power of being true to yourself, Seussical the Musical offers a perfect way to close NCT’s Season for Storytellers.
Through May 24 at Nashville Children’s Theatre
