Will you come to the Heated Rivalry Record Store Day listening party this summer? Vinyl Tap is participating in a nationwide RSD release party to celebrate the vinyl release of the TV show’s soundtrack. The show’s creator, Jacob Tierney, was recently interviewed for The New Yorker about his music taste — and he sang the praises of onetime Nashvillian Samia. Building off his scrappy song curation alongside Jared Keeso for Letterkenny, the Heated Rivalry soundtrack leans into the 2000s Canadian indie Tierney was formed by. It hinges heavily on Wolf Parade’s “I’ll Believe in Anything,” which has seen a renaissance through the show. Plus there’s “mangetout,” a groovy number from viral British provocateurs Wet Leg, as well as the show’s beloved original score from Peter Peter. Offering prizes and an opportunity to geek out en masse, the listening party is a great way to keep your support for local record stores going all summer long.
