Since its founding in Texas in the early 1980s, the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association has put on a lot of car shows all over the country, including multiple events in Nashville over the past decade and change. Friday and Saturday, the group launches a new format with a show at The Fairgrounds Nashville called Legends of Hot Rodding, specifically highlighting cars and trucks built before 1965. Among the more than 500 association members’ cars on display, expect everything from concourse-grade restorations that could convincingly roll out of a Space Age showroom to radical custom jobs that look like they could actually take you to space, plus a selection of historic racing vehicles. There will also be a vendor hall, kids’ activities, the Nitro Thunderfest dragster exhibition, Q&As and autograph sessions with current and future legends of the scene (names to be announced), and a ton of Nashville music, including bluesman Stacy Mitchhart.

May 15-16 at The Fairgrounds Nashville

625 Benton Ave.
