Film Endowment — a Nashville-based nonprofit that aims to provide support for local filmmakers, including with workshops and showcases — is back with its annual Film Endowment Festival this weekend. The two-day event takes place at the studio of Nashville Education, Community and Arts Television, better known as NECAT. On Friday, there will be a meet-and-greet followed by screenings of music videos directed by area filmmakers. The first day will close with the presentation of a movie with a trailer from the film that the fest’s judges deem the best. On Saturday, the docket includes a selection of short films followed by showings of documentaries. Winners of each of the festival’s categories will receive cash prizes. Admission is free and open to the public; reach out to info@filmendowment.com to attend.
