49Winchester

Though they formed nearly a decade prior, 49 Winchester’s long-overdue breakthrough came via 2022’s Fortune Favors the Bold, a stellar showcase of soulful Southern rock that earned the band praise from Luke Combs and an opening slot on the European leg of the country superstar’s 2023 world tour. The band, formed by childhood friends from the small Appalachian town of Castlewood, Va., is now gearing up to release their major label debut album Change of Plans (out May 15 via Lucille Records/MCA). The record, which features a stellar cover of Black Sabbath’s “Changes,” is produced by Dave Cobb. “We started this thing from the smallest seed possible,” frontman Isaac Gibson says in a press statement. “And by staying true to that same mindset, it finally feels like now is our time to come up.” The group will celebrate the album release with an intimate show at The Blue Room on May 13 with opener Miles Miller.

8 p.m. at The Blue Room at Third Man Records

623 Seventh Ave. S.
