This year, Walk Bike Nashville sought to pull off perhaps its most ambitious plan yet — close off a five-mile loop of Nashville roads and paths from cars once per month to help people imagine what a more pedestrian-friendly city could look like. And it wasn’t just for looks. Cyclists and walkers could enjoy the path and businesses along the way for one day each month this summer. There’s room to grow, but the sheer effort to move the dial and make the city a less car-centric place is a noble one.
