People love their public radio hosts. We rely on them, we’re used to them, and their voices fend off commute-inspired rage. But change is hard. Rachel Iacovone moved to Nashville this summer from South Florida to fill the morning slot on WPLN, replacing one Nashville Public Radio host in practice (Jason Moon Wilkins, who moved to the afternoon) and another in spirit (Natasha Senjanovic, who left to pursue reporting opportunities). The transition has been seamless: Iacovone is the new normal for thousands of early-rising Nashvillians. STEPHEN ELLIOTT
