Rev. Becca Stevens, the founder and president of Thistle Farms, the Nashville-based social enterprise that helps women survivors of addiction, trafficking, violence and poverty, is up to win the CNN Hero of the Year award.
Stevens, who, among other honors, was named the Nashvillian of the Year in 2000 by the Nashville Scene, made it into the Top 10 CNN Heroes of 2016 and brought in $10,000 for the organization and its mission.
But in order to win the No. 1 spot and a bigger cash prize of $100,000 — which means more money to help women in Nashville — Stevens needs to bring in the most votes before voting ends on Dec. 6.
