Daniel Lane
Update (4:10 p.m.): Less than three hours after the charges were announced, they have been dropped. The Metro Nashville Police Department announced that "after a review of additional information from last Saturday, some of which was just received this afternoon, the MNPD and District Attorney General Glenn Funk agree that the arrest warrants issued last night against Justin-Bautista-Jones and Janeisha Harris will be recalled for the present."
Original post: Metro Police are seeking the arrest of three people, including two well-known black activists, on charges of felony aggravated rioting stemming from protests against police brutality on Saturday.
Despite the serious charge, the three are accused of seemingly minor offenses. Police say prominent activists Justin Jones and Jeneisha Harris walked on a police car, damaging it. Photos from the afternoon show Jones and Harris standing on a police car, but do not appear to show any damage. Daniel Lane is accused of spray-painting the car.
Jones and Harris are two of Nashville's most prominent young activists. They are well-known to state and local officials, including law enforcement. Both responded to the news of the charges on Twitter, saying that they were turning themselves in. Both said that the Metro Nashville Police Department had sent SWAT teams to their homes.

"There better be more to the story because right now it reeks of vengeance," he said.
