Kevin Spain
Nashville-based media company FW Publishing announced Tuesday Kevin Spain as editor-in-chief of the Nashville Post and Olivia Moye Britton as publisher of Nfocus.
Previously Spain was managing editor of Sportsnaut, managing NBA, Major League Baseball and college football coverage. A 30-year veteran journalist, Spain has held positions at The Times-Picayune in New Orleans, USA Today and The Athletic. He began his career in Middle Tennessee, working at Murfreesboro’s Daily News Journal and the late Nashville Banner daily newspaper.
“We are thrilled to have Kevin join our team,” says Mike Smith, FW Publishing president. “He brings the depth of experience we were seeking for the role, and is eager to open a dialogue with Nashville’s business and political leaders. This appointment will help the Nashville Post continue to play a pivotal role in reporting on business and growth in our dynamic city.”
Spain works with Post Publisher Heather Mullins and replaces Stephen Elliott, who now serves as a staff reporter at the current Nashville Banner, a community-supported civic news organization.
Britton joined FW Publishing in 2017, having previously worked as the company’s events, marketing and festival director. During her tenure as the events team lead, she oversaw the production of the Best of Nashville, Iron Fork, Margarita Festival, Most Powerful Women and Movies in the Park events.

Britton replaces Jennifer Trsinar Jezewski and works with Nfocus editor Janet Kurtz.
Smith says Britton “has consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership and a commitment to excellence. We are proud to recognize her hard work and achievements with this well-deserved promotion.”
FW Publishing was founded in 2018 by Bill Freeman and the late Jimmy Webb, also founders of Nashville-based real estate company Freeman Webb Company.
