In sad news for lower-case boners of all persuasions everywhere, Out & About reports that Tennessee's first and only
male strip club, Arrow, is
closing:
Arrow Nashville, Tennessee's only male strip club, is closing its doors this week after 15 months in business. In a statement on Arrow's Facebook page[account required], management says that they were unable to lease the building, located on Peabody and 5th Ave., beyond 2010. From the statement: "We want to thank (our patrons) for their support in the last year and a half. You all are amazing. Sorry we had to close so suddenly, but we were not able to renegotiate our lease in a manner that would allow us to keep serving you."
The establishment, which I
wrote aboutin October of 2009, was the first of its kind in the state, and possibly the region, to offer all-nude male entertainment. It could have easily gone the way of the seedy adult bookstore, but a visit in the first days of its inception found the place to be a source of lively nightlife with a wide range of physiques on display that seemed to cater to every kind of taste — a refreshing alternative to the assembly-line body types of your typical hetero strip club.
