Murder Junkies' Merle Allin interviewed at The Muse in Nashville, 2009

Well, first of all. If you don't know anything about GG Allin, go ahead and familiarize yourself by watching all of Todd Phillips' 1994 documentary Hated.

The whole thing is on YouTube

, but I must warn you: It's riddled with graphic depictions of nudity, violence, excrement, coprophagia ... you know, all of the things the late punk rocker was known for. So anyway, GG's brother Merle re-formed The Murder Junkies back in 2003 — the 10th anniversary of GG's death. They stopped off at

the late, lamented Muse

back in 2009 (their last visit to Music City, if I'm not mistaken), where Merle did the interview you can see above. It's ... something.

The Murder Junkies will play FooBar tonight, and contributor Sean L. Maloney wrote a pick on it for us. This is how it goes:

Can I tell you a secret? Whenever I have some big career-making/breaking event in my life, I show up wearing my GG Allin T-shirt that says “I’m Your Enemy,” and features GG inside a pentagram. It’s an icebreaker — and surprisingly popular among Of Montreal fans, go figure — and usually a pretty good way of warding off the crazies. At least the crazies who don’t like the legendary shit-flinging punk rocker, Satan, or public declarations of deviant thoughts. And though GG — author of such immortal classics as “I Kill Everything I Fuck,” “Legalize Murder” and “Bastard Son of a Loaded Gun” — has been dead for 19 years, his brother and co-conspirator Merle carries on the legacy with The Murder Junkies, continuing the scumfuck tradition well into the new century. —SEAN L. MALONEY

Probably starts somewhere in the neighborhood of 9 p.m. You know, Rock O'Clock.
