This is one of those things that's been bouncing around the rumor mill for a red-hot minute, but we weren't permitted to say anything. It's also the sort of thing that, one morning, just shows up in your inbox.
We named Daniel Pujol of PUJOL one of our 10 artists to watch out for in 2010, dubbing him "Socrates of the house show circuit." Since then, PUJOL has recorded a single with Jack White, overhauled their lineup and released the full-length X File on Main St. Well, looks like we at the Cream weren't the only ones paying attention, as news of PUJOL inking a deal with Omaha-based Saddle Creek Records appears to have become official.
There's little further information in the press release, save a mention of a "Saddle Creek Debut Announcement Coming Soon." But I can tell you this much: Team Cream had lunch with Mr. Pujol last week, and that dude is always planning something. In fact, stay tuned in the coming weeks for the debut of a Cream-exclusive Pujol-created web series of a sort. Have a look after the jump to see a list of PUJOL's upcoming tour dates, among them several stops with Ted Leo. PUJOL will also be playing NBN's SoundLand here in Nashville at some point between Sept. 21 and Sept. 24, though his venue and date are still TBA.
