When we called Daniel Pujol one of our 10 artists to watch back in February, we were not even joking around about that. Not only did his photo shoot for the Scene eerily presage Anderson Cooper's famously awesome "ceramic cat" moment on CNN in the wake of our little deluge, D.P. has kept on keeping on, releasing tapes 'n' tapes of rock goodness (including his latest, a split with The Little Bear that has so many great moments it's hard to know where to begin) and playing shows every couple of days and sometimes more than that.

And now we find out, as revealed at long last by Third Man yesterday, that PUJOL will be releasing a Third Man Records "blue series" 7-inch produced by Jack White — "Black Rabbit" (already a cassette classic) backed with "Too Safe." (Hopefully you won't have to break open a JEFF record to play it. JK, I think.) This will be in addition to a live EP recorded back when PUJOL opened for Nobunny. So that's pretty awesome.

Now, the new PUJOL 7-inch will be released on Oct. 2, which, incidentally, is also the night PUJOL plays the second of the Nashville's Dead Next Big Nashville showcases at Third Man Records, which we can now tell you about. To the jump!
