Today's a big day for Kesha, marking the official release of Rainbow, her first album in five years and a pretty astounding achievement all-around. Just over a month ago, she announced her comeback with the music video for the soul-baring, gospel-indebted song "Praying." On Thursday night, she brought a super-sized band, including a string quartet and much-loved local player Richie Kirkpatrick on guitar, to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
It's her first late-night TV appearance in years — the last one I remember was when she talked to Fallon about breaking into Prince's house in 2014 — but she and the band knocked it out of the park, wreathed in halos of light and looking like a band of space angels.
