Back in January,
The Spin peeped a rough cutof Kandyland, Scene contributor Seth Graves' feature-length documentary about Thelma and the Sleaze's 29-day, 31-show run of gigs at different, often random spots in Nashville and Murfreesboro in February 2016. Snow nor creepy dudes nor lack of access to a power outlet could stop the band from the strange, exhausting, fascinating mission they set for themselves — namely, to play a boatload of rock shows, build up some buzz for a new album (which hasn't been released yet, though
two songs are on Bandcamp) and give away a van.
Above, check out a new trailer for the rock-doc, which gives you a closer look at the wild ride you're in for when the finished version of the film makes its official debut. Word on the street suggests that will happen soon, but no official announcement has been made. Keep up with all things Kandyland via the movie's Facebook profile.
Update 3/15/2017, 5 p.m.:
The Nashville Film Festival has announced the roster of films selected for its Tennessee First Features Competition, which includes Kandyland alongside 30 other movies. The screening schedule has not yet been announced, but the 48th festival goes down April 20-29 in roomier digs at the Regal Hollywood Stadium 27 megaplex at 100 Oaks.
