"You haven't spoken to each other in five years," an unnamed music-biz suit tells The Black Keys at the outset of their new video for "Go." "And according to your contract with Warner Bros., if you continue not to speak to each other, they retain the option to send you to the next level of mediation."

Thus the concept for the extremely meta video from adopted Nashvillians Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney is laid out. The pair is sent to a commune-esque retreat by the name of Happy Trails, where they engage in team-building exercises and take what appears to be an ayahuasca (or magic mushroom?) trip. Hijinx, et cetera. It's a pretty droll way of dealing with the sorts of rumors that swirl when a massively successful band — one that spent countless hours together in vans and green rooms when they were on the come-up — takes a half-decade off between records to focus on other projects.

“It was great making this video with [director Bryan Schlam], partially because it was filmed at the very type of place it is making fun of,” says Carney in a release.

“The video was fun, but we still haven’t spoken," says Auerbach.

"Go," which is a characteristically bright and catchy rock number — the kind you can no doubt imagine reverberating through arenas and concert halls — is featured on the Keys' forthcoming ninth studio album, Let's Rock, set for release on June 28. As Auerbach recently told Rolling Stone, the album's title is a reference to the final words of death row inmate Edmund Zagorski, who was executed via electric chair by the state of Tennessee on Nov. 1.

The Black Keys will play Bridgestone Arena in October.
