Adam Chaffins makes country music look easy on his EP Trailer Trash, the follow-up to his 2019 full-length Some Things Won’t Change. With a voice that feels like it’s been honed in boozy backrooms for decades, Chaffins gives a commanding performance on these five songs.

“Trailer Trash” considers the singer-songwriter’s own upbringing and the prejudices he’s faced, while the EP’s closer “Little Bit At a Time” is an earworm of a mantra to perseverance and following your own path. A lot of advice songs teeter between common sense and aphorisms, but Chaffins’ confidence keeps things grooving.

It’s no wonder he’s received a nod from AmericanaFest this year as one of the official showcasing acts announced in the recent round of artist additions. Keep an eye out for the full AmericanaFest schedule for details on his performance in September.
