The following news has been out for a minute, so consider this a timely friendly reminder. Jack White’s new LP Frozen Charlotte lands on Friday, July 10, and there are heaps of listening parties set for Wednesday, July 8, at a bunch of Nashville indie record shops.

We got a first taste of the album in April when White played SNL for his sixth time overall and fifth as a solo artist. He and his band busted out two new songs, “Derecho Demonico” and “G.O.D. and the Broken Ribs,” which were eventually revealed to be songs from a new LP. Naturally, said revelation came a little more than 24 minutes into the second in a two-video series about music marketing that White’s Third Man Records published in June. (As Stereogum rightly pointed out, the visual style references that time in November 1987 when pirates, one of whom was dressed as the title character in the then-new dystopian sci-fi show Max Headroom, briefly signal-jacked two TV broadcasts in Chicago.)

At the listening parties, you’ll be able to hear Frozen Charlotte in its entirety a couple days before it’s officially out, and you’ll be able to pick up a physical copy as well. There’ll also be some fun swag and opportunities to win signed test pressings of the LP. Participating stores are Analog Your Life (4 p.m.), Grimey’s (6 p.m.), Vinyl Tap (6 p.m.) and, of course, the Third Man store (4 p.m.). Other nearby stores joining in are AndVinyl in Clarksville (5 p.m.), Luna in Franklin (6 p.m.) and Crying Cat in Murfreesboro (5 p.m.).
