This clip was inspired by legendary designer and New York Magazine co-founder Milton Glaser, this video is a loving homage to 1960s and 1970s design, as well as a tribute to Bob Dylan. It is the third animated single from Emma's critically acclaimed "Blonde on the Tracks" album.

Stellar singer-songwriter Emma Swift is set to release Blonde on the Tracks, her tribute to Bob Dylan, this Friday. Swift’s rich but agile voice and the electric folk-rock-leaning arrangements (produced by Patrick Sansone and rendered by a band of local ringers) present songs from across His Bobness’ catalog in ways that emphasize their timelessness.
In the run up to the release, Swift has commissioned a suite of animated music videos. The latest is for “You’re a Big Girl Now,” a song from Dylan’s 1975 album Blood on the Tracks whose narrator is working through the confusing mess of emotions at the end of a relationship — they’re hurt and regretful, but trying to hold out a little hope.
The video is also an homage to some graphic design that was of its time but, similar to the song, isn’t bound by it. Art director Yvonne Moxham and animator Alex Dar drew significant inspiration for their piece from the work of the late Milton Glaser. Glaser first became well-known for a poster he illustrated that was packaged with Bob Dylan’s Greatest Hits, one of his works that’s on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art. (Another is the “I Love New York” logo. Glaser also co-founded New York Magazine.) Moxham and Dar begin with the bold, flowing swirls of color that Glaser used to represent Dylan’s hair in his piece. In the video, the swirls give way to shapes of birds, tapping feet and more sentient images that haunt cut-out photographs of Dylan.
