Cream Premiere: Music Band Comes Back With 'Superstition' [Fresh Track]

It's been a hot minute since local rock fans have had a chance to catch Music Band around town. But if you've been missing the deceptively tight, Garfield the Cat-lovin' trio, here's some fantastic news. They've had a second LP — a follow-up to their choice 2016 debut Wake Up Laughing — in the oven for a good while, and it's just about ready to serve up.

Their second LP Celebration is due out April 3 via Dine Alone Records, and we're very pleased to premiere the track "Superstition" below. No, it's not a Stevie Wonder cover, but it is a tasty slice of Thin Lizzy-meets-Neu! rock ’n' roll, a kind of driving cosmic choogle. Lyrically, the crew addresses the very human need to have some sort of tradition to be a part of, even if it's one you need to concoct yourself. The refrain "Superstition / Make up your tradition" becomes a kind of mantra as spiraling tape echoes and ripples of snarling guitar spin into the ether.
