The McCrary Sisters

The Americana Music Association Festival and Conference has been rounding out the summer in Music City since 1999, and AmericanaFest is slated to spread out across Nashville again this year from Sept. 15 through 19. The first round of artist announcements is out, and suggests big crowds flocking to the fest once again.

The smorgasbord of talent includes lots of locals, like legendary vocal ensemble The McCrary Sisters; soulful songsmiths Katie Pruitt and Denitia; writer of pointed and poignant tunes Tim Easton; and explorer of the heart Courtney Marie Andrews. You’ll have a chance to catch rocking songsmith Aubrie Sellers in the wake of her standout LP Far From Home, as well as power-folk-pop champion Jeremy Ivey following his latest It’s Shape Will Reveal Itself.

There’s plenty of top-notch talent based elsewhere too, such as Abraham Alexander, who co-wrote the Oscar-nominated song “Like a Bird” that he sings in Sing Sing. You’ll find legends like Judy Collins and Melissa Etheridge and legends in the making like River Shook, Hiss Golden Messenger and “critter country” ace Meels.

Festival Wristband, Silver Wristband and Gold Circle Package pass options are available now at early-bird prices that will increase. The two upper tiers offer you options to see the festival keystone event, the Americana Honors and Awards ceremony and show on Sept. 16 at the Ryman. (Silver Wristband holders get first shot at tickets when they go on sale, while the Gold Circle Package includes a guaranteed ticket.) There are also discounts on passes for association members.

Watch the Americana website and the festival Instagram account for artist additions and the forthcoming announcement of honors recipients and awards nominees.
