There’s a lot of things to be concerned or even anxious about right now, from reproductive rights to foreign policy to the state legislature. It’s only Tuesday, and if you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed, local hardcore punk outfit Thirdface is here to help you out with a cathartic, ferocious blast called “Legendary Suffering.” (I can't quite make out the lyrics, despite the recording being good, but the title is presumably a reference to Hellraiser.) Multihyphenate Nashville musician Corey Taylor filmed the group playing the song in their garage — check out the video above.
If you don’t know Thirdface, it is a ferocious and whiplash-inducing quartet led by Kathryn Edwards of The Other Booking and Drkmttr. (You might have caught the band opening for Deerhoof back in February, though The Spin unfortunately only got to hear them from outside.) They’re hitting the road this week for a tour that will take them to the Northeast and back, and they'll play Nameless Fest V at the end of June. If you're looking for more and don't want to wait that long, you can snag a copy of their 2018 EP A Demonstration of Righteous Aggression via the Bandcamp embed below.
