Legendary inventor, guitarist and all-around badass Les Paul died today, Aug. 13, from complications due to pneumonia. He was 94 years old, and he leaves behind him a monolithic rock 'n' roll legacy. Not only was he a sonic pioneer—making massive contributions in the development of both the solid-body electric guitar and multi-track recording—he also had a string of hits with both the Les Paul Trio and his wife, Mary Ford, back in the '40s and '50s. He will be missed by noodlers and listeners alike. The clip below is taken from the Les Paul documentary Chasing Sound! Enjoy.
