Last night I dreamed that Nashville became a primary concert market for pop music’s biggest stars. And then ... BAM! SURPRISE!! I wake up to news that Lady Gaga
tweetedthe first-round tour
itineraryfor the U.S. leg of her Born This Way Ball Tour, which, to my surprise, makes a monstrous ballroom of Bridgestone Arena on March 10. That date not only puts Nashville in the company of real, townie-free cities such as New York, Chicago and L.A. in Gaga Land, but it also sees the singer returning to the ‘Ville less than two years after
her 2011 Bridgestone debut.
As you may or may not recall, a miracle happened at that show: Concert-goer Crystal Thornton went into a seizure and soon after suffered cardiac arrest (typically a sign one is walking toward the light) while watching openers Semi Precious Weapons. On-site medics used a portable automated external defibrillator on Thornton, kick-starting her heart five minutes after it stopped beating.
