Who here remembers Garrett Hedlund? He's the rakish young chap who — in addition to Tron: Legacy — starred in the Nashville-shot Country Strong, a Gwyneth Paltrow vehicle that was basically a pre-Nashville, feature-film version of Nashville. In preparing for the role,
Hedlund once told mewhile hanging out in Music City, he did his best to "live and breathe country music." In the brand-new video for Kings of Leon's "Beautiful War" (watch it above), Hedlund picks up his cowboy hat once more. The Casey McGrath-directed vid — which nods to KOL's album title, Mechanical Bull — casts Hedlund as a tragic (and handsome) anti-hero, suffering the consequences of one fateful night and seeking a bit of redemption via a prison rodeo. Go ahead and dig in.
The Kings have also recently announced that they'll play Saturday Night Live on Dec. 14 (John Goodman hosts!), and I betcha they'll play this number. Also, tickets for the Followills' Feb. 7 show at Bridgestone Arena are still available.
