Lyrics:
I want love to
Grab my fingers gently
Slam them in a doorway
Put my face into the ground
I want love to
Murder my own mother
And take her off to somewhere
Like hell or up above

Two weeks ago, Nashvillian, Third Man Records founder, White Stripe, Raconteur, Dead Weatherman and, finally, solo artist
Jack White announced his forthcoming studio LP, Blunderbuss, and released the lead-off single "Love Interruption."The track — which features vocals from fellow Music City denizen Ruby Amanfu — now has a White-directed video, which you can watch above or via
this link. The video, much like the arrangement itself, is rather minimalist and straightforward, with Ruby providing a very welcome bit of powder-blue elegance. The wind instrument? That's a bass clarinet played by Nashville Chamber Orchestra's Emily Bowland. The electric piano? That's a Wurlitzer being played by another Nashvillian, Brooke Waggoner. The dog? Why, I think he's the only non-Nashvillian in the video, considering he's a Boston terrier. Bah-dum-cha! At least, I think that's a BT. I'm mildly rusty on my dog breeds.
So Blunderbuss will be out April 24 via Third Man and Columbia Records. And while Mr. White has announced tour dates including stops in Memphis and Chattanooga, there's no Nashville date on the books yet. But I'm going to guess he'll play at TMR at least once, don't you think? Also, White was rumored to be on Bonnaroo's lineup, but he didn't show up in this morning's announced performers. Suppose we're just going to have to wait and see.
