According to a fresh greeting on the Third Man Records homepage, White's local label will — in conjunction with Columbia and XL Recordings — release the record on April 24 in the U.S. and on April 23 across the pond. An interesting item of note: April 24 is also the stateside release date for White’s fellow Raconteur Brendan Benson’s solo What Kind of World LP.
But before that, Third Man will release the album’s first single “Love Interruption” in 7-inch form. That's next Tuesday, Feb. 7. But you don’t have to wait that long to purchase or hear it. Nashville indwellers and visitors alike can pre-order their copies of the hot wax over at the Third Man downtown shop, while the rest of you can pre-order it at White’s official site — where, as of minutes ago, you can stream “Love Interruption.” The track’s non-Blunder B-side is a song called “Machine Gun Silhouette.”
More details to come ...

I know the Third Man faithful will scoop up both records on principle, but isn't kind of tacky to release your solo record on the same day as an associate? I say this with none of the blind hatred of some Jack White critics. Simply an observation.
Also, Blunderbuss! You're playing Alaska!
Nashville's own Ruby Amanfu (Sam and Ruby, The Collective, Wanda Jackson's Jack White led band) is the featured female voice on the track.
@ras3: Yep. Hence burrito's chuckle-worthy "you're playing Alaska!" joke. I think in Portlandia it's intended as a bit of a play on Bumbershoot.
And thanks, I'm a fan. Was wondering who that voice belonged to. She sounds great.
I was waiting on the John Deere pick-up man to come by and pick-up the lawn mower for it's annual service (always get free pick-up and delivery during this slow period of the year) when I came upon this little gem of a news article. / The lawn mower is on it's way for it's check up. / Now I can say what I was thinking about this photo...a picture tells a thousand words, right? Isn't that what everyone says? My first thought was I hope Jack isn't having a bad day and thinking about cutting his wrists or his throat. If that were the case I would have to say, "Don't do it Jack, everyday is another day to wake up and make another dollar and go on living, just like the John Deere pick-up man." Love the White man. Been waiting for the day he'd be putting out his own solo album. Wouldn't mind getting a plastic record like the school kids are with their school colors of purple and yellow. Purple and yellow are comlimentary colors and have been my favorite colors together since I learned about the color wheel in art class in high school. I'm predicting a little purple haze + a little yellow submarine = great tunes to listen to from the White man. The interent is already ablaze with the news on Mr. White's first highly anticipated solo release. I'm still trying to get a free listen but I think the internet is on "overload" right now with all of us curiosity seakers wanting to get the fresh sounds pounding in our heads. Lord knows we need more great rock & roll in these troubled times! / Oh, and for all of you bullies out there that want to comment on my comment....yeah I know some of you are going to say you want Jack White to go f off and die and before you do that, I will tell you to go f off and die first. Mr. White can entertain the world and you bullies can go be garbage mans and womans. This is a glorious day for rockers like me!
Portlandia is very inconsistant. The first bits were brilliant, and it had some excellent moments, (like Cacao!) but most of the show veers into not-as-effective Tim & Eric territory.
Also, that bathroom/echo chamber at Third Man is a great place to have a #2.
Weird factoid of the day: Ruby Amanfu was supposed to release an album on Spongebath.
The new song seems to be getting quite the # of hits on utube (to include my clicking the reply)...found the jaxtapositon of the song by taking out every other line (almost) and found a song within a song that could be titled, "I Want Love". Special note: How many people at some point in their lives, even though they love their mother, wished she were dead (had enough with the advice and maybe trying to control one in adult life)?I do see some comments on the new jwiii utube sight making comparisons to Neil Young. I'd have to say the song is similiar in emotion to "Down By The River". As the saying goes, you only hurt (or get hurt by) the ones you love. Yeah I've loved a lot of people in my life and the love for some of them turned into hate (family members can be the worst offenders and take advantage of ya way beyond belief). Early in the school years we are taught that people are basically good. I think schools should teach kids sex education along with the concept that people are basically self-centered and selfish and that is what makes them go bad and you have to work hard at being good to turn out to be a caring adult. This is a great song for many people because it touches on the extremes of emotions...from love to hate (and wishing someone, or themself, were dead). Love sure is a complicated thing and can bring so much joy and so much pain. Well, anyway...dang I have been waiting to discover another great musician like Neil Young, who's music has been present in the majority of my life (been listening to his music for so long he's in my soul). So cool to be around whilst this young White man is toiling away at what he can come up with and create from the depths of his own soul. It's also very nice that he has planted himself in Nashville, where I also enjoy spending many a day and really enjoy when I get to listen to him playing "live". Oh, and if you hang around enough and he gets to know ya a little bit he usually will pass you by and you'll get a quick chance to tell our own, world known, Music City, USA rock star , "Hi". I'm finally getting the rock & roll music around the "Tune Town" I've been seriously needing to ease my troubled/worried mind and get some real peace of mind. Love ya Mr. White. (Oh hell..hope I don't stir up the hornets nest again).
Neil Young news at thrasherswheat.org , "Steve Jobs preferred vinyl"says Neil, who was working with SJ on better sounding quality music in the new digital download age. If you like Neil Young you will like the very cool clip from a conference discussing the issue and "the donkey".
