Hey fellow Nashvillians, you guys still coasting on that "It City" high? Need another fix of the good stuff? I've got just the thing for you: It's a forthcoming Music City ego-stroker by the name of For the Love of Music: The Story of Nashville. It's a one-hour
documentary— a "story filled with passion and truth," say the filmmakers — that features interviews with and/or performances and appearances from (take a deep breath ... it's a long list): The Black Keys, Eric Church, The Civil Wars, JEFF the Brotherhood, Kings of Leon, Ben Folds, the Fisk Jubilee Singers, Bill Anderson, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Kris Kristofferson, Marty Stuart, Charlie Daniels, Vince Gill, Steve Cropper, Emmylou Harris and more.
"There was the perception that [Nashville] was only country music — it's a closed door," says noted badass Vince Gill in the trailer. "And man, that couldn't be further from the truth." Once again, Vince for the win. Native Nashvillians are of course inordinately exhausted with stories about our town that lead off with "Nashville's not just cowboy boots anymore!" So hey, here's one more thing to tell everybody, "Yeah, duh, we've already established that." Also, Caleb Followill says, "I feel like I'm not as cool as a lot of the kids walking around here," and that tickles me.
Anyway, the doc premieres this Sunday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m. Central on ABC. Wait a minute ... isn't that the same network that airs some other program about Nashville?
