Well, seeing as how it's a cool, smooth, slow-news Friday — and seeing as how we need very little excuse to post about the late, great Cowboy Jack Clement — I just thought I'd ask: Have you ever seen the 2005 Robert Gordon- and Morgan Neville-directed Cowboy documentary Shakespeare Was a Big George Jones Fan? Well. It's only an hour long, it features interviews with Kris Kristofferson, Bono, Jerry Lee Lewis, Charley Pride and more, and
the whole thing is streaming for free on Snag Films. And oh hey, would you look at that? I've embedded it above.
Clement went out on top. Before passing away in August at the age of 82, Cowboy landed on our cover, was honored by a roomful of fellow legends and heavy-hitters, and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Rest in peace, Cowboy.
Now, throw in those ear buds and coast through the rest of your Friday afternoon.
