More sad news in the music world today with the loss of Beastie Boys co-founder John Berry, who died yesterday morning at a hospice in Danvers, Mass., following a long struggle with frontotemporal dementia. He was 52.
Country singer John Berry, however, who is 56, was never a member of the Beastie Boys, and is, at press time, still very much among the living. Apparently, either that news never reached the folks over at AOL Entertainment, or somebody in the AOL AV department doesn't get paid to fact-check, as a clip posted this morning on AOL's site and its official Facebook page (and is still live after four hours and counting) reports the former musician's death with text scrolling across a video montage of the latter Berry. Oof.
