Famed country producer and music business mogul Tony Brown, 66, was arrested yesterday on charges of domestic abuse stemming from an incident last month. According to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Scene, Brown’s wife Jamie Brown alleges that on Sept. 11 her husband pushed, choked and scratched her following an argument in the couple’s Belle Meade home over finding her father a job with a business associate.

Brown — who’s produced records by the likes of Vince Gill, George Strait and Reba McEntire, in addition to being the former president of MCA Nashville and co-founder of Universal South Records — was released from jail yesterday after posting a $5,000 bond. He’s due back in court Nov. 20, to face charges of assault and domestic bodily injury.
