Margaritaville Sets Nashville Grand Opening for Nov. 22

Margaritaville will be here in two shakes of a parrot's tail.

Jimmy Buffett's chain of tourist-happy tropical cafes has announced that its Nashville outpost will open on Lower Broadway at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22. The first lunchers will be admitted following a ribbon-cutting ceremony with local luminaries at 10 a.m.

Margaritaville also offers live entertainment and a retail store. (Jimmy Buffett brand flip-flops remind me of Nicki's post today about interesting brand expansions.)

The complex takes over the 19th-century building at 322 Broadway that previously housed Global Cafe and, before that, Planet Hollywood. Developers had a brief tussle with the city over how the building's facade would comply with the historic overlay for the neighborhood. The issue was resolved with a compromise in April.
