If you shop at farmers markets around town, you're probably familiar with
Hatcher Family Dairy, the College Grove-based farm known for
their delicious milk including chocolate, whole, buttermilk and their Jumpin Jimmy energy drink. But the farm also has a charitable bent, and they are planning a big hoedown on Saturday, June 13, that they are calling "The FarmStrong Charity Dinner and Auction."
The event will feature a multi-course farm-to-table dinner prepared by Enchanted Kitchen Catering featuring ingredients from Hatcher and Delvin Farms. There will also be live musical entertainment throughout the evening that begins at 6:30. The rain date for the party is the next evening, June 14, so you might want to block out both dates on your calendar.
Tickets are $50 per person and are available at the Hatcher Family Dairy booth at The Franklin Farmers Market, The Farmers Market at Berry Farms, the Hatcher Dairy store in College Grove or by calling 615-368-3405. And 100 percent of all proceeds will go to benefit the FarmStrong Charity to provide college scholarships in agriculture and music in cooperation with Tennessee Young Farmers and Ranchers.
The dinner will be held at Battle Mountain Farm in College Grove at 6915 Arno-Allisona Road, around 50 minutes south of Nashville. You might want to check your GPS in advance for that one. Visit the Hatcher Family Dairy website for all the details and to see the entire menu.
