Weekly Open Thread: What's Your Favorite Nashville Pizza?

A co-worker notes that Foursquare recently released what it calls "A State-by-State Guide to America's Best Pizza," and according to its rankings, Nashville's DeSano Pizza Bakery is tops in Tennessee. I'm a big fan of DeSano, so that seems reasonable. But the fact is, there are tons of pizza options in town, with a lot of diversity — and I'm sure there are plenty of advocates for various places in various neighborhoods.

Over in East Nashville, Five Points Pizza is a really great spot. Meanwhile, one of my favorite lunches at the Nashville Farmers' Market is a fresh wood-fired pie from Bella Nashville at the Farmers' Market, which uses impeccable ingredients, including sausage from Porter Road Butcher. (In my dreams, someday they'll stay open later than 3 p.m.) And that's not the only place to get pizza baked in a wood-fired oven. Not only do high-end joints City House and Lockeland Table offer wood-fired pizzas, both Bella Napoli and Porta Via have blazing ovens too.

Of course downtown, Manny's House of Pizza rules the Arcade; Manny's brother Joey has his own venerable place on Elm Hill Pike. In Midtown, we gotta love that Two Boots has a Nashville hot chicken pizza, The Kitty (our colleague Megan Seling is a fan of Two Boots' The Meg, a white pizza). When Donato's opened a few months ago, people who knew the chain from Ohio and Kentucky were thrilled.

I've only barely scratched the surface here, and there are many more pizza options coming soon, like chef Gerard Craft's Pastaria, which is opening in OneC1TY (the development on Charlotte Avenue near Centennial Park). And happily, we hear there will be even more exciting pizza revelations in coming months.

So here's our question: What's your favorite pizza joint? And this is the Open Thread — what else is on your mind?
