TN Tasting

Regular readers know that I’m a big fan and supporter of Giving Kitchen, the Atlanta-based nonprofit that provides stabilizing support to thousands of hospitality workers during times of need. Since its founding, Giving Kitchen has offered assistance to almost 15,000 food and beverage workers across the country, including $10 million in direct financial assistance covering the cost of housing and basic household utilities, preventing homelessness during a worker's greatest time of need.

Since Giving Kitchen committed staff to Nashville, our local restaurant community has benefited greatly from their efforts, and there’s an upcoming opportunity for us to give a little back. On Sunday, April 28, Giving Kitchen will stage their second Tennessee Tasting event at the One Fourteen event center at 114 Second Ave. S.

When Giving Kitchen put out the word to local restaurants to help out with the event, the response was immediate and extensive, because these businesses recognize the important efforts of the organization. Among those who have signed up to offer delicious dishes during the tasting are:

There will also be a live auction featuring unique experiences and items, live music, beer, wine, cocktails and mocktails. General admission tickets are only $75 for two-and-a-half hours of food, frivolity and fun starting at 5:30 p.m. A special VIP/Tastemaker experience is just $125 and permits early entry at 4 p.m., plus a special cooking demonstration from a Strategic Hospitality chefs and extra libations.

Last year's inaugural edition of Tennessee Tastings was one of the highlights of my personal culinary calendar, so if you’re looking for a good time while helping out a great cause, buy your tickets today at the event website. I’ll see you there!
