TN Flavors

Mark your calendars for May 19: That's the date of the 14th edition of Tennessee Flavors, the major annual fundraiser for the Nashville State Community College Foundation.

This 21-plus tasting event runs from 6 to 8 p.m., and recently, Nashville State Community College has started revolving between its campuses as the host for the evening. For 2026, attendees will visit the Southeast Campus in Antioch at 5248 Hickory Hollow Parkway. Nashvillians of a certain age will remember that as the previous location of Dillard’s at Hickory Hollow, and those of us of an even greater age will recall it as Cain-Sloan.

Tennessee Flavors is a sprint, not a marathon, so you’ll want to arrive early to avail yourself of the offerings from participating local wineries, distilleries, bakeries, restaurants and caterers. This event has always been close to my heart, because it was a favorite project of my late neighbor and serial Nashville restaurateur Randy Rayburn. The School of Culinary Arts at Nashville State is named in Randy’s honor, and many of the students there benefit directly from the dollars raised during the evening, including more than $65,000 last year alone!

Tickets are already on sale, and early-bird tickets are going fast. Even if you miss out on the discounted tickets, it’s still a very worthy event. But seriously, go get your tickets now!
