Park Cafe has been a Sylvan Park institution since 2001, attracting loyal legions of fans from the neighborhood and offering an excellent spot for celebrations, business lunches or happy hour hangs. And now Park Cafe wants to share the birthday presents with their devoted following.
They’re offering a special anniversary menu from March 16 to 22, featuring an entrée with an appetizer or dessert for just $30. Offerings include longtime crowd favorites like fried green tomatoes and chorizo-stuffed dates as starters, main dishes like the Park Cafe salmon, roasted chicken, and shrimp and grits, plus signature desserts like the crème brúlée Napoleon and a dark chocolate mousse tart. (The regular menu will also be available.)
“Reaching 25 years is a milestone we don’t take for granted,” says Sean Lyons, managing partner at Up Hospitality, which owns Park Cafe and also owns and operates Germantown Café and new Brentwood-based concept Karrington Rowe. “We’re proud of the community built here, and our commitment now is to continue elevating the experience, deepening our impact and adding even greater value to those that have supported us for decades.”
Located at 4403 Murphy Road, Park Cafe is open for lunch Wednesday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., dinner Monday to Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. and weekend brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information about the anniversary and reservations and to view the entire menu, visit parkcafenashville.com
The bar at Gray & Dudley has always been a favorite of mine: It's far enough from Lower Broad to avoid shot-swilling knuckleheads, but an easy walk from just about anywhere in the urban core. Their cocktail list consistently features creative drinks made with top-shelf spirits.
Lately, the talented mixologists have begun sharing their knowledge through a series of entertaining classes. Whether you want to learn more about how to shake and make your own cocktails at home or you’re just curious about what’s in your glass, you can join them on the third Thursday of every month for an Art of the Cocktail class starting at 6:30 p.m.
Each class will kick off with a few light bites followed by a guided tasting featuring a specific supplier or spirit. Tastings are followed by a behind-the-bar mixology course, where guests are guided by expert mixologists to craft a signature cocktail. The first class of the series will be on March 19, and even though it’s a couple of days past St. Patrick’s Day, the featured spirit will be Jameson Irish Whiskey to help extend the holiday a little bit.
Reservations are $28 and can be made here.
