Owner of E+Rose Wellness Cafe Eyes Early September Opening in Mixed-use Skyscraper 505

The founder and owner of a local health food and beverage cafe has chosen downtown’s mixed-use skyscraper 505 for his third location.

Robbie Nowinski tells the Scene he hopes to have his vegan-oriented E+Rose Wellness Cafe open in the high-rise, located at 501 Church St., by early September. The business will take the main level on the left side of 505, thus offering pedestrian visibility from both Church Street and Fifth Avenue North.

Of note, the future E+Rose Wellness Cafe will feature a bar, likely to be Nashville’s first, offering coffee with no dairy additives, providing customers, instead, with plant-based creamers, milks, etc. The bar will also feature beverages infused with so-called superfoods such as mushrooms and matcha (a tea).

E+Rose Wellness Cafe is known for its fruit bowls, smoothies, juices, toasts, salads and wraps, with the cafe’s offerings at least 95 percent vegan.

Nowinski, a registered dietician and former college athlete, is not disclosing the cost to get operational. However, a recently issued permit to allow for the build-out of the 1,400-square-foot space is valued at $190,000.

Nashville-based Solomon Builders is the general contractor.

“We believe the central business district is in need of a healthy, quick-service option,” says Nowinski, an advocate of a plant-based, whole foods diet. “Our presence on the corner of Fifth and Church will bring amazing visibility and easy access to our plethora of plant-based foods. We are terming this space our 'Wellness Bodega' as we will have a multitude of healthy convenience market style retail options combined with our usual offerings of vegan grab-and-go entrees, juices, smoothies and bowls.”

Nowinski also owns and operates E+Rose Wellness Cafe locations at both mixed-use building Encore in SoBro and in Brentwood’s Seven Springs.

E+Rose Wellness Cafe began operations in January 2018.
