I’m pretty happy these days when I hear about anything “annual” taking place because it feels like a return to our routines, even if things are not “normal.” This Sunday, you can enjoy such a tradition at Miel's 7th Annual Summer Harvest Dinner. The West Nashville restaurant is bringing back its favorite event, which showcases Miel’s local farm partners and the produce they grow.
The multi-course local produce dinner takes place this Sunday, Aug. 22, from 4:30-7 p.m. The menu will include vegetables and fruits from the farmers, plus herbs from Miel’s charming Sylvan Park garden. Items on the menu include butternut squash hummus, eggplant roulade, gratin of swiss chard stalks, fried corn with sweet pepper puree and pecorino, housemade ricotta with figs, honey and blackberry shrub, and more. Even the wines have a connection to Miel’s mission: Featured wines are organically produced with traditional farming methods, all from Anjou which is in the Loire Valley in France. Even the non-alcoholic melon and basil aqua fresca with a salt and burnt sugar rim, sounds like a glass of summer. The meal will be prepared by Miel’s executive chef Jason Lalacona and owner Seema Prasad (whose push for a digital vaccine passport you may have recently read about).
Miel is located at 343 53rd Ave N. Tickets start at $85 per person. Wine flights are $35. Book online.
