The Michelin Guide has announced that Nashville will host its 2026 American South Ceremony in the fall.
In the inaugural American South Guide in 2025, Nashville earned its first Michelin stars for Bastion, The Catbird Seat and Locust. Several other local restaurants received additional Michelin distinctions, and The Hermitage Hotel was awarded two Michelin Keys, a recognition for hotels. That award ceremony was held in Greenville, S.C., in November.

Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin Guide, says in a release that Nashville "stood out as a fitting backdrop" for its entertainment culture, in addition to its culinary talent. The 2026 ceremony will be held Oct. 21 at The Pinnacle, the 4,500-capacity live music venue located within the Nashville Yards development.
“Nashville’s culinary scene has evolved into one of the most exciting in the country, and hosting the Michelin Guide American South ceremony in October will further elevate Music City as a dining destination,” says Deana Ivey, president and CEO of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp, in the release. "Hosting the Michelin Guide ceremony in Nashville is a meaningful milestone for our city and a celebration of the incredible talent that’s been growing here for years.”
Michelin announced its first North American Guide in 2005 for New York. It has since added multiple major U.S. cities and states. Michelin began giving European restaurants stars in 1926 in an effort to promote road travel and to sell tires.
