M.L. Rose Food Truck Will Feed Furloughed Federal Employees for Free on Thursday

An appropriate headline for a story about the partial government shutdown could be “Trump to Federal Employees: Drop Dead!” We’re almost 26 days in, folks, and many federal workers haven’t been paid.

M.L. Rose will lighten that burden by providing 100 free meals (cheese"berders") to furloughed employees on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Federal workers can show up at the M.L. Rose food truck located at Street Eats (located at Fourth Avenue North and Deaderick Street where food trucks often gather) with their I.D. After the first 100 meals, the restaurant will still honor federal employees with the same meal for $5. That deal will continue at the restaurant’s Capitol View location through Jan. 31.

While we’re at it, this seems like a good time to note that Kings Dining & Entertainment is offering two free bowling games and shoe rentals to furloughed employees and their immediate family members. The offer is available at the Franklin Kings location on Mondays through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. until the government reopens — whenever that will be.

The president may not value the work of federal employees, but in Middle Tennessee, their service to our country will be rewarded with a cheeseburger, waffle fries and a couple hours of strikes and gutters. Do you know of any other deals for our federal civil servants?
