Koko's Ice Cream Pops Up With Dairy-Free Frozen Treats

This summer, there's a new frozen treat to look out for popping up at events and farmers markets. Koko's Ice Cream is a coconut milk-based ice cream made and sold locally from a precious little cart. You can find Koko's at farmers markets, special events, and pop-up-friendly businesses such as White's Mercantile in 12South. Just look for the precious bicycle-driven cart.

I had a chance to try Koko's back in May when they popped up at the Sylvan Park Elementary School Carnival. Though I wanted to try the vegan chocolate flavor, I had to compromise with Cookies and Cream flavor since I was sharing it with my daughter. The ice cream tastes great and has an excellent consistency (not icy). Even better, the ice creams are pre-packaged (made fresh daily), so service is fast (always a bonus when there's a child involved).

Other flavors often include a stracciatella, seasonal berry (such as strawberry or peach), and recently introduced avocado-banana (which a friend tried over the weekend and loved).

To find out where Koko's is popping up, follow them on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram (which is the best place to find out where they'll be).
