Duck & Foie Gras Ravioli and Squid Ink Radiatore Fra Diavolo Vertical
Especially now that the football season has ended for the Titans, Sundays should be a little freer for some Nashvillians. Since it's a traditional day of rest and restoration, sometimes working in your home kitchen isn’t the first thing you think of as you plan your Sunday. Even going out can be a bit of an ordeal, what with all the excellent restaurant and menu decisions that confront you.
Maybe all you want/need is for someone to take the reins and feed you, like an Italian nonna bringing platters of Sunday gravy and pastas to the table to help you carbo-load before another work week. Well, your friends at iggy’s feel you, and Ryan and Matthew Poli have put together a no-fuss Sunday supper that may be the answer to our lazy prayers.
No Decision Sundays are a new special chef’s counter experience at the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood favorite, with eight reservations set aside for parties of two to enjoy an effortless dinner with the Polis. For just $130 a couple, diners will receive a bottle of wine selected by the beverage staff to accompany a six-course dinner consisting of two starters, three pastas and a dessert created at the whim of the culinary team. You won’t even need to consult a menu; just watch the plates pile up as you plunge through the dishes that are currently exciting the kitchen.
True to the rest of the cuisine at iggy’s, you can expect seasonal ingredients sourced from local purveyors, along with creative takes on classic Italian dishes. Seats at the chef’s counter also offer the chance to interact with the staff as they prepare and present your meal — always a treat for those who enjoy an interactive dining experience.
This chef counter could (and should) be your Sunday home
Because the special menu will be designed specifically for No Decision Sunday dinners, the kitchen will not be able to offer substitutions or accommodate dietary or allergy concerns, so be sure to ask about that up front before you make your reservation. Remember, there are only eight reservation slots available between 5 and 9 p.m. each Sunday on Tock, but the rest of the restaurant will still be open with regular service available.
